COURSE DETAILS :

UFCD 6452 – Me and my daily routine:

This training unit immerses learners in vocabulary and expressions pertinent to daily activities, routines, and personal habits. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants will acquire the linguistic tools necessary to describe their daily routines, from waking up in the morning to bed at night. Emphasis will be placed on common verbs, time expressions, and adverbs to articulate habitual actions. By the end of this unit, learners will confidently navigate discussions about their daily lives, fostering improved communication skills in Portuguese.

UFCD 6453 – Eating habits, culture, and leisure:

Learners will journey into food, cultural practices, and leisure activities within Portuguese-speaking contexts in this unit. Participants will expand their conversational abilities by engaging in activities and discussions while exploring culinary traditions, dining etiquette, and popular leisure pursuits. By examining cultural nuances and vocabulary related to food and leisure, learners will enhance their communicative competence, enabling them to participate more actively in social interactions and cultural experiences.

UFCD 6454 – The human body, health, and services:

This unit is designed to equip learners with essential vocabulary and phrases related to the human body, health-related topics, and accessing services in Portuguese-speaking environments. Through comprehensive instruction and practical exercises, participants will learn to articulate symptoms, describe medical conditions, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. Additionally, learners will gain insight into navigating healthcare systems and accessing services, empowering them to address health-related concerns confidently and clearly in Portuguese.

UFCD 6455 – Me and the job market:

In this unit, learners will develop language skills for navigating the job market in Portuguese-speaking contexts. Through simulated scenarios and role-playing exercises, participants will learn to discuss professions, articulate job-seeking strategies, and engage in workplace interactions. By focusing on essential vocabulary related to employment, job interviews, and professional etiquette, learners will enhance their ability to communicate effectively in job-related contexts, ultimately increasing their employability and career prospects.

UFCD 6456 – My past and my present:

This unit encourages learners to reflect on personal experiences, discuss past events, and confidently express their life journey in Portuguese. Through storytelling, group discussions, and reflective exercises, participants will explore significant moments from their past and consider how these experiences have shaped their present selves. By practising narrative skills and employing relevant vocabulary, learners will develop their ability to convey personal stories and connect with others deeper, fostering stronger interpersonal relationships within Portuguese-speaking communities.

UFCD 6457 – Communication and life in society:

Learners will hone their communication skills for various social situations within Portuguese-speaking communities in this unit. Through interactive activities and practical scenarios, participants will practice expressing opinions, making requests, and engaging in everyday interactions confidently and clearly. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication strategies, cultural sensitivity, and the nuances of language use in social contexts. By mastering essential communication skills, learners will become more adept at navigating diverse social environments and forging meaningful connections.

Course details

  • Course Name:  Português Língua de Acolhimento (PLA)

  • Level: A1/A2

  • Total hours: 150 hours

  • Duration: Intensive (7 ½ to 8 weeks)

  • Times: 7 pm to 10 pm (Times vary)

  • Quantity: Max of 20 students per session.

  • Classes Online: Live classes (for migrants in Portugal only). Learners must have reliable internet access and be able to use a laptop, phone, or tablet.

Course Curriculum:

The PLA courses that certify the A1 + A2 level – Elementary User are organized according to the following Short-Term Training Units (UCFD):

Level A1 + A2 – Elementary User Certification

Short Training Units (UFCD):

  1. UFCD 6452 – Me and my daily routine: Explore vocabulary and expressions related to daily activities, routines, and personal habits.

  2. UFCD 6453 – Eating habits, culture, and leisure: Delve into food, cultural practices, and leisure activities while expanding your conversational skills.

  3. UFCD 6454 – The human body, health, and services: Learn essential vocabulary about the human body, health-related topics, and accessing services in Portuguese-speaking contexts.

  4. UFCD 6455 – Me and the job market: Develop language skills necessary for navigating the job market, including discussing professions, job-seeking strategies, and workplace interactions.

  5. UFCD 6456 – My past and present: Reflect on personal experiences, discuss past events, and confidently express yourself about your life journey.

  6. UFCD 6457 – Communication and life in society: Hone your communication skills for various social situations, including expressing opinions, making requests, and participating in everyday interactions within Portuguese-speaking communities. 

    Catálogo Nacional de Qualificações (anqep.gov.pt)  CPTI - as a promoter entity, provides this course in partnership with regulated entities and the Qualifica Centers network. Courses are monitored for validation and certification.

  7. PLA (Português Língua de Acolhimento) certificates.

    Once the learners complete their course successfully, they will receive a valid certificate (applicable for nationality) by our exclusive partners, awarding bodies in Portugal. 

    Certificates are issued and validated by our partner's awarding body.

    How would this be issued?

    Learners receive their certificates by original paper printed version (Stamped and signed by the respective authority). It is free of charge to all learners and is one of the many value-added services we provide to support customers.

    ​How long would it take to receive the certificate?

    During the validation process, learners' learning and certificates will have to go through many procedures for registration and verification with the respective awarding body or entities for validity. It can take max four weeks. (Depending on the workload of the Portuguese system and calendar).

    ​Typically, our students receive their certificates within 2-3 weeks. Once the certificate is ready to be collected, you will receive an email with a soft copy of the PDF.

    How can you collect the certificates?

    Learners must collect the certificates in person at our HQ in Lisbon.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Booking Procedure

Minimum age is 18.
After receiving this form duly filled and a deposit of €100, CPTI will confirm the booking. only after confirmation of registration form students will be able to start paying courses fees.
Confirmation letters for visa purposes require a deposit of €1.000,00

Changes of Program

If only one student is placed at a given level the course will be
replaced as follows:
Group 3 lessons/day---> Individual 2 lessons/day
Workshop 2 lessons/day---> Individual 1 lesson/day

IMPORTANT NOTICE

On Public Holidays Group and Group+Workshop Course lessons will not take place and will not be recovered. Individual Courses lessons will take place or will be recovered.

Payments

Final payment of courses and other services must be done before start of the course, in cash, by bank transfer or Visa/Mastercard.
When paying by bank transfer, please send a copy of the Bank Transfer Form stating name of student, course dates and location.

Cancellation Fees

Prior to 2 weeks of starting date: no cancellation fee From 2 weeks to prior Friday: €150,00 No show/after arrival: 1 week of course + 1 week accommodation

Missed Lessons/Minimum Attendance

Missed group lessons cannot be recovered or refunded. Individual lessons can be rescheduled with 24h notice.
Students must achieve a minimum of 80% attendance to be eligible to sit for the end- of-level test.

Insurance

CPTI will not accept any liability for loss, damage or injury of any kind, incurred in whatever way. Students are invited to take out comprehensive personal insurance (health and liability).
